Qui-Gon Jinn is born on the galactic capital and later taken to the Jedi Temple, where he joins the Heliost Clan and learns lightsaber combat from Tera Sinube.

~68 BBY - Padawan of Dooku

At twelve he becomes Master Dooku's apprentice. He first sees the holocron of Jedi prophecies, which will fascinate him for the rest of his life.

~68 BBY - First battle on Shurrupak

Four months into his apprenticeship he goes into battle for the first time and meets Rael Averross, Dooku's former Padawan, who becomes a lifelong friend.

Hunting Shenda Mol

On a strike team to Numidian Prime, Qui-Gon is captured by the bounty hunter Shenda Mol. Dooku saves him with Force lightning, which troubles the young Padawan.

~64–60 BBY - Rescue of Senator Dagonet's son

Qui-Gon calms a deadly standoff in which Dooku nearly kills a corrupt senator, and Dooku praises him as the wiser man.

60 BBY - Trials on Felucia

During his trials he falls in love and has a relationship that tests his commitment to the Code. He stays in the Order but keeps a Mustafar fire diamond as a memento.

~58 BBY - Dragonfire Air Rally and knighthood

He and Dooku expose a spy on the Council. Dooku takes a Council seat, and Qui-Gon is made a Jedi Knight around the same time.

44 BBY - Takes Obi-Wan Kenobi as Padawan

At thirty-six, Qui-Gon takes on Obi-Wan Kenobi as his apprentice.

Visiting his Wookiee friend Brennonn, Qui-Gon is captured by Trandoshan hunters. Kenobi rescues him.

40 BBY - Missions to Teth and Pijal

After a mission against Wanbo the Hutt, he is offered a seat on the Jedi Council. On Pijal he uncovers Princess Fanry's plot and saves Czerka's slaves, then turns down the Council seat so he can keep training Kenobi.

He and Kenobi help Yoda after a raid on the Flesh Mongers and take the Force-sensitive child Lo to the Temple.

Secrets of eternal life

Taught by the Force Priestesses and a Shaman of the Whills, he secretly begins learning how to keep his consciousness after death.

Called a warrior by Priestess Th'er, he goes looking for answers. A dark Force vision teaches him that balance must come without unchecked violence.

With Mace Windu, Plo Koon and Depa Billaba, he helps defeat the warlord Guattako, who had kidnapped children to fight for him.

32 BBY - Blockade and invasion of Naboo

He is sent to negotiate with the Trade Federation, survives their attempt to kill him, and rescues Queen Amidala from occupied Theed.

32 BBY - Discovery of Anakin Skywalker

Stranded on Tatooine, he meets young Anakin, wins his freedom in the Boonta Eve race, and fights Darth Maul briefly.

32 BBY - Before the Jedi Council

He insists that Anakin is the Chosen One. The Council refuses to train the boy.
