~48 BBY - Birth on Chandrila

Born into a political family. Her father is a Republic arbiter-general and her mother, Tanis, is a governor on Chandrila.

~33 BBY - A Teenage Rebellion and Marriage

At fifteen she briefly turns away from politics to become a historian and tours the ruins of Phothrell. Following Chandrilan custom, she marries Perrin Fertha.

~32 BBY - Youngest Senator

At sixteen she joins the Galactic Senate as Chandrila's senator, one of the youngest ever, and moves to Coruscant with Perrin.

28 BBY - Meeting Padmé Amidala

She speaks at the first Senate session Padmé Amidala attends. At first she doubts the new senator, but later becomes her ally and mentor alongside Bail Organa and Onaconda Farr.

~22 BBY - Loyalist Committee

As a member of Palpatine's Loyalist Committee, she works to stop the Separatist Crisis from turning into war. War breaks out anyway.

22–19 BBY - Voice for Peace in the Clone Wars

She opposes bank deregulation and the bill for more clone troopers, and speaks against wider emergency powers. She attends the Alderaan refugee conference and represents the Republic at peace talks on Mandalore.

~21 BBY - Murder of Onaconda Farr

Farr is poisoned at a gathering of the anti-war senators, and Mothma is present. The military spending bill passes despite their efforts.

~19 BBY - Trial of Ahsoka Tano

She attends the funeral for the victims of the Jedi Temple bombing and sits in on Ahsoka Tano's trial, where Barriss Offee confesses.

19 BBY - Seeds of Rebellion

She meets in secret with Organa and other concerned senators. They agree to take a petition to the Chancellor rather than turn to the Jedi.

19 BBY - Rise of the Empire

Palpatine declares the Galactic Empire. Mothma attends Padmé's funeral on Naboo. She is arrested with other dissenting senators and freed after publicly declaring her loyalty.

19 BBY - The Imperial Rebirth Act

She drafts a bill to limit the Emperor's power. To stop an assassination plot that would have ruined it, she sets off Soujen Vak-Nhalis's hidden self-destruct device and is wounded herself. Palpatine vetoes the bill's key limits.

19 BBY - Pact on Phothrell

With Organa, she meets Saw Gerrera in the ruins of Phothrell. She agrees to be the political heart of their underground resistance.

18 BBY - Building "the Alliance"

She begins gathering military and intelligence assets into her own network.

5 BBY - A Double Life

Still a senator in the Imperial Senate, she secretly funds Luthen Rael's rebel network. She hides the money with help from her childhood friend Tay Kolma, while her marriage and her relationship with her daughter Leida fall apart.

~4 BBY - Leida's Wedding

To cover her rebel finances, she arranges Leida's marriage to Stekan Sculdun. During the wedding festivities, Tay Kolma is killed to protect her secret.

2 BBY - Denouncing Palpatine

After the Ghorman Massacre, she condemns the Emperor on the Senate floor and escapes Coruscant as a fugitive.

2 BBY - Founding of the Rebel Alliance

Her break with the Senate unites the rebel cells as the Alliance to Restore the Republic, and she leads it as Chancellor.

1 BBY - The Death Star Plans

She approves recruiting Jyn Erso. The Rogue One mission then steals the Death Star plans at Scarif.

0 BBY–4 ABY - Leading the Galactic Civil War

She leads the Alliance through the years after the Battle of Yavin and mentors Leia Organa.

4 ABY - Briefing for Endor

She briefs the rebel fleet on the second Death Star and the plan to attack it at Endor.

4–5 ABY - Chancellor of the New Republic

She is elected the first Chancellor of the New Republic, with its Senate seated on Chandrila. She plans to give up wartime powers and to cut the fleet by ninety percent.

5 ABY - Galactic Concordance

She signs the peace treaty with the Empire after the Battle of Jakku. The Military Disarmament Act follows.

9 ABY - The Thrawn Question

She presides over the Senate while Hera Syndulla is questioned over her warnings that Thrawn is returning.
